This katana originates from the late Edo period (18th–19th century), a time when Japan experienced relative peace under the Tokugawa shogunate. The blade is unsigned , which may indicate that it was cut when changing of owner.

The blade features a hi (groove), which serves both aesthetic and functional purposes by reducing weight and improving balance while also enhancing the sound (tachikaze) when swung.

The hamon (temper line) is Suguha, a straight-line tempering pattern that was commonly seen in older traditional schools like Yamashiro-den and some Mino-den styles. This style emphasizes simplicity and elegance, providing a clean, refined look while maintaining a strong, sharp edge.

The curvature (sori) is 1.0 cm, indicating a moderate curve, making it suitable for both cutting and thrusting techniques.
